Roger Clifford Larson, the son of Clifford R. and Laura Mae (Pedersen) Larson, was born on September 6, 1955, in Riceville, Iowa. He graduated from Irwin (Iowa) High School in 1975. Roger worked at a number of jobs including construction, janitorial services, and most recently, as a packer at Variety Distributors in Harlan, Iowa. On April 10, 1999, Roger married Cindy Rae Feller at Peace Lutheran Church in Harlan.
Roger was a member of Peace Lutheran Church. He enjoyed target shooting and reading gun magazines. Since his health prevented him from working during the last several years, he enjoyed spending time watching the History and Discovery channels, as well as televised tractor pulls. Roger had a wonderful sense of humor and loved a good joke. He also took pleasure in enjoying a delicious meal.
Roger C. Larson died on Thursday, December 4, 2008, at his home in Defiance, Iowa, at the age of 53 years, 2 months, and 28 days.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Roxann Schultz and one in infancy. He is survived by his wife, Cindy Larson of Defiance, Iowa; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
A prayer service was held on Saturday, December 6, 2008, at the Burmeister-Johannsen Funeral Home in Harlan, Iowa, with Pastor Merlene Ostebee of Peace Lutheran Church, Harlan, officiating. Casket bearers were Michael Krajicek, Michael Feller, Jason Feller, Adam Feller, Shane Ehlers, Jacob Feller, and Steven Arnold. Burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Kirkman, Iowa. The Burmeister-Johannsen Funeral Home in Harlan was in charge of the arrangements.
