Patrick Michael Gallagher, son of Philip Vincent and Dixie Ann (Larson) Gallagher, was born on October 15, 1956, in Bremerton, Washington. He attended Irwin-Kirkman (Iowa) schools, and graduated with the Class of 1975. Patrick continued his education by attending Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He then proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Patrick returned from the Service, and was employed as a welder for many years in southwestern Iowa. He had completed CMA training, and most recently worked at Salem Lutheran Home in Elk Horn, Iowa.

Patrick married Debra Anderson in June 1977, and the couple became the parents of three children. They later divorced, and on October 14, 2004, Patrick married Pamela Jean Swisher in Harlan, Iowa.

Patrick loved spending spend time with family, watching his grandchildren’s sports, and playing cards and board games at holiday gatherings. He also enjoyed driving his Ford Mustang and loved caring for his cat, Brandy (AKA “Stinky”).

Patrick M. Gallagher died on Saturday, November 21, 2020, at Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He had reached the age of 64 years, 1 month, and 6 days.

Patrick was preceded in death by father, Philip Gallagher; his stepfather, Russell Thompson; and one brother, Eric Thompson. He is survived by his mother, Dixie Thompson of Elk Horn, Iowa; his wife, Pamela Gallagher of Elk Horn, Iowa; one son, Chad (Lindsey) Powers of Glendale, Arizona; two daughters, Jessica (Travis) Holloway of Irwin, Iowa, and Autumn (Sean) Chapman of Manilla, Iowa; one stepdaughter, Renee (Scott) Hansen of Manning, Iowa; one stepson, Shawn Stanley of Des Moines, Iowa; three sisters, Allyson (Bart) Schmidt of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Cynthia (Lynn) Rutherford of Jamestown, Ohio, and Elizabeth (Billy) Butler of Copperas Cove, Texas; three grandchildren, Lexi (Colby) Petersen, Trenton Holloway, and Brock Holloway; three step-grandchildren, Emily Hansen, Dillon Hansen, and Sophia Hansen; two great-grandchildren, Bennett Petersen and River Petersen; one step-great-grandchild, Paisley Reiser; and other relatives and friends.
