Donna Mae Krueger, the daughter of William H. and Bessie Irene (Eschleman) Krueger, was born on May 31, 1924, in Superior, Wisconsin. She graduated from Harlan (Iowa) High School in 1942. In 1944, she joined the Women’s Army Corps (WAC) and served in Japan, Korea, Italy, Turkey, and Germany until 1948. After her discharge from the service, Donna worked in Alaska as a hospital administrative assistant for the United States government. Throughout her life, Donna enjoyed traveling.
Donna M. Krueger died on Tuesday, July 31, 2007, in Harlan, Iowa, having reached the age of 83 years and 2 months.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Marlys Rihner, Dorothy Schroeder, and Patricia Christensen; and one nephew, Ross Christensen. She is survived nieces and nephews, as well as other relatives and friends.
No services were held. Burial of ashes will be in the Harlan Cemetery, Harlan, Iowa. The Burmeister-Johannsen Funeral Home in Harlan was in charge of the arrangements.
