Diana Louise Juelsgaard, the daughter of Earl and Dagney (Rasmussen) Breining, was born on April 16, 1943, in Audubon County, Iowa. She attended Elk Horn (Iowa) High School and graduated with the Class of 1962. On September 9, 1962, Diana married her high school sweetheart, Jimmie Dean Juelsgaard, in Kimballton Iowa; the couple was blessed with four children.
Diana and Jimmie lived in Harlan, Iowa, until their move to Kimballton, Iowa, in 1963. They purchased their acreage home in Elk Horn, Iowa, in 1964, and it was there they raised their family. Through the years, Diana worked at the dry cleaners, Myrtue Medical Center, and the Salem Lutheran Home.
Diana was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Kimballton, Iowa. She enjoyed attending sporting events, and had a passion for bowling. Diana loved the outdoors, and she and Jimmie spent many weekends fishing and camping.
Diana L. Juelsgaard died on Friday, December 31, 2021, at Myrtue Medical Center in Harlan, Iowa. She had reached the age of 78 years, 8 months, and 15 days.
Diana was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Jason Juelsgaard; and one sister, Murriel Petersen. She is lovingly survived by her husband of 59 years, Jimmie Juelsgaard of Kimballton, Iowa; two daughters, Jena (Larance) Christensen of Cresco, Iowa, and Jenifer (Blane) Damek of Millersview, Texas; one son, Jarod (Susan) Juelsgaard of Cresco, Iowa; one brother, Ronnie Breining of Elk Horn, Iowa; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
Celebration of Life services will be held at a later date. The Burmeister-Johannsen Funeral Home in Harlan, Iowa, was in charge of the arrangements. Condolences may be left online at www.burmeisterjohannsen.com.
